Greetings people of the fediverse.
TagPush exist to help you expand your reach, grow your interests, and populate your timeline with content.
The concept is simple.... Follow any of the tag accounts, which corresponds to a hashtag, and you will get copies of posts as they appear around the fediverse, straight to your own timeline.
We're still testing, and growing. Look at the list below for the tags we are sniffing out and pushing onwards.
While we will never be able to do every hashtag, the idea is to compile a list of the best and more popular. If you'd like to suggest one, ping me a DM and I might reply! @hal@tagpush.app
Why do we need this?
The fediverse is distributed. There's no central server for posts. When you search for a tag/click on it, you only see posts that your own server is aware of. TagPush aims to gather up posts from around the fediverse and get them to you. We are constantly gathering, and push out every ten minutes or so.
This is especially good when you are on a small server -- more content will arrive that is relevant to your interests.
But I don't want my public posts boosted
- If you do not wish an individual post to be boosted by a tag bot, include
#nobot in your post.
- Add
#NoBots somewhere in your profile Bio and we will not boost ANY of your posts.
Alternatively, block the individual tagpush account, or the entire tagpush.app domain. However, you will not see any of our boosts from other people.
The tags NoBot and NoBots can be used interchangeable. And can be written in upper, lower, or mixed case.
Doing this does of course reduce the discovery of your posts by new readers.

How to follow
Example: If you want to follow the #blogpost tag, follow @blogpost@tagpush.app from your own fediverse account.
Basically, the name of the account is the same as the hashtag, but the account starts with @
Top Tips

You can Mute individual accounts if you are receiving too many posts from a particular user of the hashtag. There will be a mute option in your app for the profile you wish to silence.

Some tags can generate a lot of posts. Why not create a List; add the TagPush profile to the list, and set the list to hide those posts from your Home timeline. You can then read the list and all the posts at your leisure. Note: Only future posts will appear in the list, once created. Previous posts remain in the home timeline.

If you do not want your public posts boosted, block the boosting account and we can't see your posts to boost.

If you are happy for us to boost your posts but don't want notified, mute the boosting account. However, you will not see any of our boost for the tag either.
